UK Sport carried out over 1,300 drug tests on Britain's 523 Olympic and Paralympic athletes in the run-up to this summer's Games in Beijing. Over 400 tests were conducted on the 151 British athletes who took home medals.
UK Sport's Research and Innovation team have put out a final call today to all 'Garage Innovators' who may have ideas to enhance the performance of British athletes at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond.
With the revised World Anti-Doping Code coming into force next year, UK Sport's Acting Director of Drug-Free Sport, Andy Parkinson, has been speaking about the changes this will bring.
Manchester's Vicky Botwright claimed the runner-up spot at the World Squash Championships at the weekend - the sixth World Championships in 2008 to be supported by UK Sport's World Class Events Programme.
