With the Beijing Olympic Games now just 70 days from getting underway, UK Sport today revealed that success is very much on the public agenda, with athletics second only to football in the nation's desire for sporting success.
The British Diving team took on the world's best divers at the weekend in Sheffield at the FINA Diving World Series, securing a haul of five medals at the competition, which was supported via UK Sport's World Class Events Programme (WCEP).
When the Great Britain taekwondo team won an unprecedented four medals at the 2008 European Championships, it was a triumph of technique, training – and technology, thanks to the partnership between UK Sport and BAE Systems.
