John Scott, UK Sport's International Director and Director of Drug-Free Sport, has been announced as Chief Executive of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. He will take up his new post in August 2008.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS PLANS UNVEILED
Britain's first ever Beach Volleyball World Championships will come to Brighton later this year, bringing one of the most colourful Olympic sports to Britain for the first time. The U21 World Championships will be staged between 3-7 September, just one week after the Beijing Olympic Games, marking the start of the road to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
