"We will not allow complacency to set in," pledged John Steele, UK Sport's Chief Executive, as the Olympic Games came to a close in Beijing. Steele was speaking at the end of the most successful British Olympic performance in a century.

Girls4Gold Ambassador Victoria Pendleton fulfilled her ambition of becoming an Olympic Champion in Beijing last week. The women's sprint gold medallist is a true inspiration to all of the Girls4Gold applicants, many of whom attended a phase one talent assessment event in Loughborough over the weekend.
