Just over a month after the Pitch2Podium talent assessment team packed up their testing kit at the last Phase One event of 2009 in Glasgow, one of the applicants, a former rugby union player, has already been accepted onto a training programme with a new Olympic sport.
The 2009 European Canoe Slalom Championships, held in Nottingham last weekend, has been praised by the sport's international federation, for providing a world class sporting event experience for athletes and spectators alike.
Tickets have gone on sale for the 2009 Modern Pentathlon World Championships, which take place at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London from 13-17 August, supported by UK Sport's World Class Events Programme.
